Cassaundra Davis
Athlete of the Month
March 2018
Our Athlete of the Month for March 2018 is Cassaundra Davis! Cass has been with us for a couple years now and ALWAYS comes in with a great attitude – we often catch her with a big grin in the middle of a grinder workout and wonder how she could be smiling the whole dang time! She never complains.
She has been making consistent gains throughout her time with us. She has been patient and working hard and it is really starting to pay off; lately she has been putting some real weight on the bar and getting her pull-ups!
Cass is easy to coach, listens to feedback and is active in our little CFJC community. She rocks!
Cassaundra Davis, 24, Account Manager at CenturyLink.
I played sports competitively growing up and played field hockey at the collegiate level which was my life and my form of exercise. After I graduated I wanted to find a new competitive atmosphere and team to join.
I continue to do CrossFit because I love the variety of workouts and feeling challenged every day.
My thoughts about being in pretty good shape were completely shut down after my first WOD. I think I laid on the ground for ten minutes, but HEY, I still do that, two years later!!
I love going to the gym after sitting in a cubical all day and getting all my energy out with a crazy workout.
But what I enjoy even more are all the wonderful people I get to surround myself with at the gym. The sense of community and friendships created make CFJC truly special.
I hit a 150# Clean and 205# Squat!
Favorite Movement = Box Jumps
Least Favorite = Thrusters
Favorite WOD = Mad Max
Least Favorite = Karen (I like Wall Balls, but 150 in a row is just too many!)
PULL-UPS!!! I am finally getting them, but still need a lot of practice. Once, that happens I will be able to RX more workouts.
CFJC has really helped me become a better athlete and healthier human.
I’m also super thankful for the friends I have made at the gym.
I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and spending time with friends and family.
My mental toughness has definitely improved and I feel inclined to take on more challenges.
Just do it. Anyone can do it as long as you’re willing try and come in with the right attitude. And just maybe you’ll surprise yourself with how strong you can be.
Dan and Lara, thank you for creating such an awesome place! You guys rock!!
All the other coaches, thank you! Especially for putting up with me…
