Tyler grew up playing sports and has always been active. In 2011, Tyler joined the Johns Creek Police Department. His job with the JCPD requires him to be in the best physical shape possible for the safety of his community, colleagues, and himself.
After he graduated from the police academy, Tyler struggled to find a training program that would keep him physically capable of handling any obstacle that he faced. He was introduced to a CrossFit-style workout by Corp. Min Cha and he became intrigued. After his first workout he was hooked!
He enjoyed the team-like atmosphere that CrossFit offered and quickly became educated in all aspects of barbell movements with safety instructions and encouragement from the coaches at CrossFit Johns Creek. In March 2014, he received his Level 1 CrossFit Trainer Certification and began coaching on a regular basis. In 2017, he furthered his certifications by obtaining his Level 2 CrossFit Trainer Certification. In 2020, he completed his Tactical Athlete Instructor Certification, which offers a whole new element of Kettlebell training for our members.
He was recently offered the opportunity to try out for the North Metro SWAT team. In preparation of try-outs, he began to focus his training on becoming even faster, fitter and stronger. Tyler made the team and serves as an operator currently on the North Metro SWAT team.
Tyler takes coaching every class seriously as if that single day’s workout could save that person’s life. In every class, he strives to push his athletes to achieve levels of fitness that they never thought were imaginable.
